What is the control line seal?

For various reasons, many wells have a hydraulic control line extending down the casing or tubing, which is used to control valves or sleeves or other equipment.
Sometimes these control wires leak and can no longer be used, sometimes they are just no longer needed.
These control lines can extend hundreds or even thousands of meters underground.
Faulty control lines may be the source of accidental leakage. In the abandonment phase, the control line can be the source or pipeline of pressure migration.
